Mahindra Launches TUV300 At A Starting Price Of Rs. 6.98 Lakhs, Comes With Automated Manual Transmission Technology

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has launched the company’s latest and much awaited SUV – Mahindra TUV300 in India at a starting price tag of Rs. 6.98 lakh. As of now, it comes only in diesel engine and the top model T8 AMT will costs Rs. 9.20 lakh. In case, if you do not know, it has a project code name – U301 and pronounced as TUV, 3 double ‘Oh’ and the ’T’ in TUV300 stand for “TOUGH”, it highlights the tough & stylish SUV design while the numeric ‘300’ represents the series name. The Mahindra TUV300 comes with automated manual transmission (AMT) technology and it will compete with Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Toyota Etios Cross, Hyundai i20 Active, Maruti S-Cross & Fiat Avventura. The Mahindra TUV300 will be rolled out from Mahindra Chakan plant, Pune.

The Mahindra TUV300 is powered by 1.5 litre mHawk80 diesel engine which produces peak power of 84 bhp & peak torque of 230Nm. It will be mated to a 5-speed AMT called AutoSHIFT as well as there is 5-speed manual gearbox that send power to the rear wheels. According to Mahindra, it offers a fuel efficiency of 18.49 Kmpl. The Mahindra TUV300 features all-new hydroformed chassis & the front bumper looks clean & uncluttered.

The design of TUV300 is inspired by a battle tank and it will not be a replacement of the Bolero. Like the battle tank, it has raised shoulders, high front-nose, high ground clearance and straight bonnet which provides Mahindra TUV300 an iconic true blue SUV silhouette, as said in a press note.

The new 2015 Mahindra TUV300 is based on all-new platform and comes in a two-wheel drive format. However, a 4WD version can follow in future. The instrument cluster of the TUV300 is fresh & the steering wheel is new and it has the audio & Bluetooth controls on it, looks like it is inspired from the XUV500. There is a touchscreen infotainment system and the seating arrangement is made up on three rows, with the last having jump seats.

The Mahindra TUV300 is an all new SUV platform and it is designed & developed by in-house Mahindra design team. The research & development of Mahindra TUV300 carried out at the world class Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. Above all, all research & development activities for this SUV were planned with global standards of quality, technology, testing norms, safety, regulations and emissions from the very start to delight the customer, as said in a press note.

Pricing And Availability

The Mahindra TUV300 will be available in different variants – T4 & T4+, T6, T6+ & T6+ autoSHIFT, T8 & T8 autoSHIFT and comes in 6 attractive shades – Verve Blue, Dynamite Red, Molten Orange, Glacier White, Majestic Silver and Bold Black. The dual airbags will be available in T4+, T6+ and then T8 onwards while ABS with EBD are available from the T4+. The TUV300 can accommodate seven people with the jump-seats located in the rear. It will be available across Mahindra dealerships pan India with Immediate effect.

If you are planning to buy TUV300 on EMI, then the EMI for a month costs Rs. 18,628 and the duration is 60 months.
