Lamborghini has launched the company’s latest car in the Huracan family – Huracan Spyder LP 610-4 in India at a price tag of Rs. 3.89 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Originally, the Huracan LP 610-4 made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014 and the 2015 Huracan Spyder versions are the successors to the Iconic Gallardo. The Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder is the third model that launched in the Huracan super car family in India after the LP610-4 coupe and rear-wheel drive LP580-2. It is touted as the drop top version of the Huracan Coupe. For your information, the Lamborghini is also the creator of many dream cars like 350 GT, Miura, Espada, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago. In addition to this, they are also the creator of limited editions such as the Reventon, Sesto Elemento, Aventador J and the Centenario. To celebrate the 50th anniversary in 2013, the company rolled out Veneno Coupe, Egoista and Veneno Roadster. The company founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini, Automobili Lamborghini is headquartered in Sant’Agata Bolognese in northern Italy. In September, 1998, it was acquired by the German luxury car major Audi, which is part of the Volkswagen Group. The car was launched at the new Lamborghini showroom in Mumbai which was also inaugurated today along with the launch of car.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Sebastien Henry, Head, Lamborghini Southeast Asia, said:

“India is one of the key strategic markets for Lamborghini. Given the projected economic growth in India, we are optimistic about our scope in the country. Our main growth thrust will always comprise of innovation and as a testament to this we are glad to introduce the new Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder in India. The car combines performance of the Huracán coupé paired with the emotional facet of open air driving. Replacing the best-selling open-top model in Lamborghini’s history, the Gallardo Spyder, we are confident that the Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder will carry forward the legacy of its predecessor.”

Sharad Agarwal, Head, Lamborghini India, said:

“We are extremely delighted to be unveiling the Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder in India. We believe that Huracán Spyder is for the passionate Indian customer who enjoys performance driving, comfort and technology. The Huracán Spyder demonstrates the latest evolution of Lamborghini’s characteristic design language. It provides outstanding visual impact while adhering to the Lamborghini principle of ‘form follows function’: the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder is as exciting to look at as it is to drive.”

When we compare the regular model with the Huracan Spyder, the only difference is in the stylish soft-top retraceable roof that opens in 17 seconds at a speed of up tp 50kmph. In addition to this, it reduces the height of car to just 1.18 meters, 4.46 meters in length and 1.92 meters in width, making it light with a dry weight of only 1,542 kg & makes it 120kg heavier than the Huracan coupe. When the roof is folded down, two fins rise from the rear of the seats, improving aerodynamics and aiding in airflow to the engine compartment. The soft top comes in different colour options — black, brown and red. Apart from this & some trim options, rest of the car remains the same carrying all those muscular character lines and the imposing stance of the Huracan family. Even the alloy wheel design is same as the one seen in the regular Huracan. The front end comes with the same pointy nose with W-shaped LED daytime running lights and the massive air intakes on the front bumper and the rear overhangs.

The Spyder LP610–4 is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 motor that spits out an impressive 610PS at 8,250rpm and generates a meaty 560Nm at 6,500rpm. Whipping those horses is a 7-speed dual clutch transmission which sends power to all four-wheels. The Huracan Spyder rides on Pirelli Pzero 245/30 R20 tyres – front and Pirelli Pzero 305/30 R20 – rear. Lamborghini claims that the Huracan Spyder can reach a top whack of 324kmph and will sprint from 0-100kmph in 3.4 seconds. It also comes with three driving modes — Strada, Sport and Corsa — just like the Huracan coupe. The new super car also features “Cylinder on demand” — cylinder deactivation technology — in combination with a stop-and-start system for lower CO2 emissions.
