Mercedes S500 And C300 Cabriolet

Commenting on the launch, Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said:

“The introduction of C-Class and S-Class Cabriolets in India is an illustration of our ‘top of pyramid’ strategy of bringing in the best of our products from the global portfolio for our distinguished Indian customers. Globally, the C-Class Cabriolet is the first ever cabriolet to be made on the C-Class platform by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class Cabriolet is the first cabriolet introduced by the brand since 1971 and also happens to be the first cabriolet based on our flagship S-Class to make its way to India. We are very pleased to offer these two novel products which never had a predecessor in India and we are confident of a strong market response.”

Adding further,

“Today, Mercedes-Benz is synonymous with luxury mobility, and we remain the number one brand of choice for a luxury car buyer. These are our 10th and 11th new product introductions this year and we are extremely satisfied with the way our product strategy has worked and delivered positive customer response. The launch of the cabriolets yet again helps us in cementing our position in the niche dream car segment and offers two new products which are unrivalled. This year, we have already introduced a diverse range of products across segments, which has fascinated our customers and pushed our growth story further. We are confident of maintaining this momentum amidst dynamic market challenges.”

The Mercedes C 300 Cabriolet is powered by 1,991 cc 4-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol engine that pumps out max power of 245bhp along with a peak torque of 370Nm. The engine is mated to 9-speed 9G-TRONIC gearbox with DYNAMIC SELECT which it lets you choose between ECO, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and individual drive modes. The car can hit the top speed of 250kmph and reaches to 0-100kmph in 6.4 seconds. The car comes with a fabric roof, different front and rear end, missing two doors at the rear. The fabric soft top is available in four colours and opens in roughly 20 seconds at a speed up to 50kmph. It claims to be the quietest soft top in the segment. For your information, it is the smallest convertible on sale and takes the design cues from its sedan sibling with a few changes. The car offers host of customisation options and optional equipment on offer as well. The C-cab gets the AIRCAP system and Burmester audio. Other features include LED intelligent lights, AGILITY CONTROL, suspension with selective damping and a standard parking camera.

The S 500 Cabriolet borrows the design cues from the S-Class Coupe and it is the sixth S-Class model to be introduced in India. The car comes with Swarovski crystal-studded headlights and a huge list of options for customising your interiors and exteriors. The car also gets AIRCAP, Merc’s turbulence and cabin noise reduction tech which makes more peaceful top-down motoring experience.
