Isuzu MU-X SUV Launched; Specifications, Features, Fuel Efficiency, Pricing And More

In an event in New Delhi, Isuzu Motors India has launched the company’s latest premium 7-seater SUV – Isuzu MU-X SUV in India. The Isuzu MU-X comes in two variant – 4×2 variant, and 4×4 variant and the ex-showroom, Delhi price is Rs. 23,99,000, and Rs. 25,99,000 respectively. For your information, the Isuzu MU-X is built on the same platform as of the new-generation Isuzu D-Max and it carries a lot of design & styling elements from the D-Max pickup truck. The Isuzu MU-X will be assembled at the Isuzu Motors manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. As of now, the company has achieved 70 percent localization for all its models in India, and it is based on the annual production capacity of 50,000 units, which has now been expanded to 1.2 lakh per annum.

Engine, and Fuel Efficiency:
The Isuzu MU-X is powered by the 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine that churns out a maximum output of 130Kw (177 PS), and maximum torque of 380 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed sequential shift automatic transmission and the 4×4 variant sports a ‘shift-on-the-fly’ 4×4 select dial for an excellent offloading capability. Both the 4×2 and 4×4 variants will come with automatic transmission and there is no manual option. Isuzu claims fuel efficiency of 13.8kmpl.

Exterior, Interior, and Boot Space:
On the outside, the Isuzu MU-X gets a host of features like projector headlamps, LED DRLS, 17-inch multi-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels, chrome finish on the door handles and wing mirrors and roof rails as well. Overall, the Isuzu MU-X has good-looking front-end and it is different from the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.

On the inside, the Isuzu MU-X gets dual-tone finish in shades of Ivory and Grey with the upholstery done in soft leather, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with all leading smartphone operating system, cruise control, keyless entry, reverse camera, 10-inch DVD screen mounted on the roof and AC vents for all three-row.

One of the highlighting features of the Isuzu MU-X is that the third-row seating and fully folding second-row seat with a one-touch fold-and-tumble feature. The MU-X has 235 liters of boot space with all the rows in place, 878 liters with the third row down, and 1,830 liters with the second and third rows folded.

Safety:
The Isuzu MU-X meets all the safety regulations and comes with advanced safety features like Anti-lock Brake System with Emergency Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, dual airbags, and hill-start assist.

Competitors:

At such a price tag, the Isuzu MU-X will compete with Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Adding further, Mr. Hitoshi Kono, Deputy Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, added:

“The ISUZU mu-X is the perfect SUV for the modern Indian SUV buyer and it has been designed to offer the perfect combination of style, power, and road presence while also providing excellent space and comfort. The Indian market for SUVs is now coming of age and we are excited to be present here in these times with our latest offering. We are confident the mu-X will set a new benchmark for full-size premium SUVs in India.”
