Nissan India has launched the company latest hatchback – 2017 Nissan Micra in India at a starting price tag of Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2017 Nissan Micra is a facelifted model which comes with a number of features and it is not the new-generation Micra that was unveiled globally last year. For your information, the design and features additions have been introduced primarily in the Micra Active while the regular Micra gets minor tweaks. The 2017 Nissan Micra Active cost Rs 5.99 lakh for the XL trim, Rs 5.32 lakh for the XV trim and Rs 5.81 lakh for the XV safety trim. The 2017 Micra XV CVT cost Rs 7.23 lakh, all prices ex-Delhi. The 2017 Nissan Micra comes in seven colours – Blue, Onyx Black, Black Silver, Nightshade, Storm and Orange.
The 2017 Nissan Micra receives no substantial change on the exterior side while the changes include are the addition of automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, and orange accents added to the cabin. The 2017 Nissan Micra comes in the new sunshine orange shade while all these changes available with the top end variant only. The rear profile gets an update in the form of combination lamps and sportier bumper.
On the interior side, the 2017 Nissan Micra left unchanged, and to make it look good, Nissan has opted for an all-back dashboard with the premium piano-black finish. The steering wheel is new, and comes with controls to operate Bluetooth telephone & entertainment options. Additionally, it comes with a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, Aux-in & USB connectivity and rain-sensing wipers along with automatic headlight. The top-of-the-line trim comes with the height-adjustment feature as well. The 2017 Micra Active also comes with speed sensing door locks that automatically lock the doors when the vehicle crossed 10kmph.
In terms of safety, the 2017 Nissan Micra comes with driver airbag as standard while the top-end variant comes with both driver and passenger airbags. In addition to this, it features Engine Immobilizer, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and BA (Brake Assist).
The 2017 Nissan Micra gets no changes on the engine side. The 2017 Nissan Micra petrol variant is powered by 1.2-litre four pot engine that churns out 73bhp of power by producing 104Nm peak torque and the engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. The 2017 Nissan Micra diesel variant is powered by 1.5-litre that churns out 63bhp of power by producing 160Nm of peak torque and the engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The ARAI-tested mileage of the new Micra is 19.34kmpl (Petrol) and 23.08 kmpl (Diesel).
At such a price tag, the Nissan Micra competes with Hyundai Grand i10, Honda Jazz, and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
The company has mentioned best-in-class extended warranty program. According to this program, the owners of Nissan Micra can available the recently launched Extended Warranty Package for 3 Years/50,000 kms (whichever comes earlier).
