Volkswagen Group under its sports car brand Porsche has launched its most expensive car – 911 GT2 RS in India at a price tag of ₹ 3.88 Crore (ex-showroom, India). The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is touted as the most powerful car and promises to be the best car you can experience driving pleasure in currently. Originally, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS made it’s global debut at Goodwood last year and needs no introduction in the world. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS comes with a really long list of customization options.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged, the flat six-cylinder engine that churns out 700PS of peak power at 7,000 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 750Nm which is mated to the seven-speed dual-clutch PDK. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in 2.8 seconds and boasts a top speed of 340 kilometers per hour. Additionally, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS has completed the legendary Nurburgring race track in a record time of 6 minutes and 47.2 seconds.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS sports active suspension management which adjusts damping on each wheel based on the surface condition. There’s also stuff like rear-axle steering to help the car go quicker around the corners along with torque vectoring, ensuring all four wheels to have optimum traction and power. It also gets Porsche Stability Management that lets you have total control over gearshifts using either the paddles behind the Alcantara-covered steering wheel or the beautifully crafted gear lever and the carbon ceramic brakes offered as standard.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS had to lose a lot of weight as it gets aggressive cuts, hoods, front wheels, scoops, mirror caps rear intakes and even the wheel arch vents are all carved out of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. The massive wing help develops over 350kg of downforce. The 911 GT2 RS is offered in a standard variant featuring a lightweight, aluminum-steel composite construction while the Weissach package is available as an option, that offers more customization, more carbon fiber, and more standardized parts.
Visually, the design of the 911 GT2 RS is centered around the vehicle’s racing properties from every angle. A wide, low front spoiler lip, striking air intakes on the aerodynamic front end and behind the doors, and the air vent in front of the front lid, typical for 911s in the GT class, reflect the vehicle’s powerful performance credentials. The interior is dominated by red Alcantara, black leather, and a carbon-weave finish as standard. A sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles, full bucket seats, and the Clubsport package which includes roll cage and six-point driver seat belt as standard, enhance the ride experience for drivers and passengers further.
