New Honda City 2017 Facelift Launched; Pricing, Specifications, Variants And More

Honda Cars India has launched much awaited and their bestselling sedan, New Honda City 2017 in India priced from Rs. 8.49 lakh to Rs. 13.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Honda City 2017 has gone through a makeover and comes with a host of new features and cosmetic upgrades like stylish & sporty exterior design, enhanced safety features, and an advanced high-technology infotainment system.

The new Honda City 2017 comes in in 11 variants with two engine options. The petrol manual transmission will be available in S, SV, V & VX trims while the petrol CVT variant will be available in V, VX and the ZX trims. The diesel manual transmission will be available in SV, V, VX & ZX trims. For the new Honda City 2017, the ZX is the top end variant while the S is the new base variant.

The new Honda City 2017 all variants will be available in 5 colors – Modern Steel Metallic (New), White Orchid Pearl, Carnelian Red Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic and Golden Brown Metallic. The new Honda City 2017 will be available across the company’s dealerships starting from today.

The new Honda City 2017 comes with wide-opening bumper design and a new smarter front chrome grille, new headlamps cluster that gets LED lamps on the top trims and LED DRLs. The rear side of the new 2017 Honda City gets a subtle update and comes with LED tail lamps and a LED strip on the spoiler which works as a high-mounted stop lamp. It has new diamond-cut and two-tone alloy wheel for both 15-inch and 16-inch wheels. The interiors of the new Honda City 2017 are premium beige upholstery with dual-tone beige & black trims.

The new Honda City 2017 comes with 17.7cm touchscreen infotainment screen, called Digipad and it is available only in V, VX, and the ZX trims. The system comes with features like satellite-linked navigation, voice recognition, Bluetooth telephony, audio streaming, has an on-bard memory storage of 1.5GB, 2 USB slots, 2 microsD card slots and 1 HDMI slot. It also features the first in segment Wi-Fi support for Internet and MirrorLink support for smartphone connectivity. The lower trims such as the S, SV and the V feature 8.9cm LCD screen with aux-in and USB.

In terms of safety, the new Honda City 2017 comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX mounts for child seats as standard. The top end ZX trim gets additional front and side curtain airbags, making it best-in-class with six airbags in total. The ZX trim comes with features like automatic headlamps, auto on-off headlamps and automatic rain sensing wipers.

The powertrain option in the new Honda City 2017 remains same and the sedan comes in 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol and iDTEC diesel engines. The petrol engine churns out 119PS of power at 145Nm, whereas the diesel churns out 100PS of power 200Nm. The petrol variant available with an option between a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT unit with paddle shift, whereas the diesel variant is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.

The new Honda City 2017 comes with 3 years/ Unlimited Kilometers warranty as standard. Additionally, for the first time in the industry, customers can opt for Extended Warranty for additional two years / Unlimited kilometers at an extra cost.

At such a price tag, the new Honda City 2017 will compete with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and next generation Hyundai Verna (will be launching soon).
