Skoda, the Czech carmaker has launched the first seven-seater SUV – Skoda Kodiaq in India at a price tag of Rs. 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Skoda Kodiaq available in 4 colours of Lava Blue, Quartz Grey, Moon White, and Magic Black, and it is available in a single trim. The Skoda Kodiaq will go on sale at exclusive Skoda showrooms and the deliveries will start in the first week of November. The company is also offering a standard 4 year/100,000km warranty and the maintenance package that will set you back Rs. 59,999 for 4 years/60,000 km. The Skoda Koqiaq is based on the familiar MQB platform that also underpins the Audi Q7 & Porsche Cayenne. For your information, Globally, the Skoda Kodiaq is also available in a 5-seater option while In India Skoda Kodiaq offered only in the seven-seat configuration. At such a price tag, it will compete with Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Isuzu MU-X.
The Skoda Kodiaq gets wide, three-dimensional radiator grille, the split rear lights with LED technology and large 18-inch wheels. The Skoda Kodiaq measures 4,697mm long, 1,882mm wide, and 1,676mm tall (including roof rails); its wheelbase measures 2,791mm.
The Skoda Kodiq comes with large touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard and it has features like inbuilt navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features of Skoda Kodiaq are an umbrella in the door pockets, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and hands-free parking assist.
On the safety side, the Skoda Kodiaq gets 9 airbags as standards, iBuzz Fatigue Alert, and Multi-Collision Brake
The Skoda Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that we already have seen on Skoda Octavia, Skoda Superb. The engine produces 150PS of peak power and churns out 340Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with 7-speed DSG gearbox, and the ARAI claimed fuel efficiency is 16.25kmpl. The company also offers an all-wheel-drive Haldex system as standard with the Kodiaq. The Skoda Kodiaq gets driving modes and they are Normal, Eco, Sport, Individual, and Snow.
