Known globally for the passion to put all of their engineering skills to develop models with notable results, Yamaha has always believed in offering custom made products by taking into account roads and traffic conditions. Being committed towards India, the launch of the unique 110 cc bike is a clear illustration of Yamaha’s endeavor to cater to the aspirations of young India. Yamaha is very excited to launch this bike and is confident this will be very well received by the target group.”
Roy Kurian, Vice President Sales& Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said:
“The 110 cc commuter segment is by far the most competitive segment in the Indian market. The Saluto RX is expected to attract buyers who prioritize style and comfortable riding with affordability. Targeted towards the requirement of tandem riding, the bike comes with an attractive price as well as alloy wheels which are suitable for rural Indian roads. Yamaha’s first step to enter the basic segment with the promise of quality and innovation will be backed by Yamaha’s network expansion plans in tier II and tier III cities.”
For your information, the Japanese manufacturer was lacking in the mass market segment in terms of offerings and in a bid to gain greater volumes in India the Saluto RX is here to fill that void. It is the second offering under the Saluto series as it has already 125cc motorcycle on sale with the above name.
The Yamaha Saluto meets BS-IV emission norms and the Japanese two-wheeler giant claims a fuel efficiency of 82kmpl. The new offering, i.e., Yamaha Saluto RX will be a replacement for the Yamaha Crux that has been discontinued from the Indian market.
The Yamaha Saluto RX is powered by a single cylinder, air-cooled four-stroke, 110cc engine that delivers a peak power output of 7.5PS at 7,000 rpm and maximum torque of 8.5N at 4,500 rpm. The new engine also gets Yamaha’s patented Blue Core technology which reduces friction among mating parts thereby increasing the efficiency of the power plant. The motorcycle also employs an all-new diamond type frame and 4-speed gearbox and it is the lightest bike in its segment, weighs just 98kg. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and twin shock unit at the back while braking is done by drum brakes on both the wheels.
