UberHire Care Rental Service Launched In Nine Indian Cities; Brings Personal Cab And Private Driver Facility For Up To 12 Hours

After a successful pilot in Kochi, Uber has introduced UberHire car rental service in 9 cities in India. Starting from today, UberHire is live in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Vizag, and Nagpur. Later on, the service will expand to more cities in coming weeks. For your information, the UberHire is a time-based Uber that’s available on-demand and it lets you explore, travel around cities knowing that Uber will wait for you.

UberHire Launches In 9 Cities In India, Uberhire, care rental service, personal driver for 12 hours

UberHire is perfect for travelers exploring a new city, senior citizens who need to make trips punctuated with multiple stops over, or for the business traveler who have multiple meetings – while ensuring it is an economical option for everyone.

Uber Rolls Out ‘Dial an Uber’; Now Book Cabs Without Using App

The base fare for UberHire is Rs. 199 while minimum fare ranges between Rs. 449 – 649 for 2 hours for first 30 kms. Post this you will be charged at Rs. 2/min and Rs. 12/km. Uber says that pricing and cancellation charges might vary from city to city. It must be noted that currently, UberHire supports only cash payments and there will be no dynamic pricing. The full charges are included in the fare and you can hold onto your Uber for up to 12 hours. UberHire is currently available between 6:00 A.M. – 10:00 P.M. only. You cannot schedule a UberHire ride the way you can for normal Uber rides.

Commenting on the announcement, Apurva Dalal, Head of Engineering, Uber India, said:

“We are always thinking of ways to enhance the Uber experience. Our technology makes it possible for us to create specialized solutions that can help users have access to reliable transportation at affordable prices. UberHIRE is one such product that addresses the unique commuting needs of riders in India, especially that of tourists, business travelers, senior citizens, and working professionals by letting them book an Uber and use it for up to 12 hours.”

How UberHire Works:

  1. Open your Uber app and slide over to UberHIRE
  2. Set your pickup location and request your ride
  3. Your Uber will be at your service. You will see your driver’s details straight away, along with the details of your car
  4. At the end of your trip, your total fare is calculated based on the distance and duration of your trip. You can pay in cash and receive an e-receipt
