Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the all-new 2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer XCx at a price tag of Rs. 18.75 (ex-showroom, Pan India). The all-new 2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer XCx comes in three colors – Jet Black, Crystal White and Lucerne Blue and the deliveries will be starting in next few days. The all-new 2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer XCx will be imported to India as completely built units (CBU) and Triumph India has managed to price the all-new 2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer XCx lower than the previous XC model. For your information, in the International market, the Triumph Explorer available in 8 variants, there are four XR variants that come with alloy wheels while the four XC variants get off-road friendly spoke wheels. In India, Triumph will limit sales to just Tiger Explorer XCx variant and the sales will be limited to just 20 units.
The all-new 2017 Triumph Explorer XCx is powered by 1,215cc in line 3-cylinder engine that generates maximum power of 139PS at 9300 rpm and pea torque of 123Nm of torque at 6200rpm. When compared with the older version, there is an increase of 2PS & 2Nm while meeting BS-IV emission norm and the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The all-new 2017 Triumph Explorer XCx comes with features like traction control, switchable ABS and three selectable riding modes – Road, Rain, and Off-road. as well as programmable Rider mode with the customizable setting for throttle maps, cruise control, semi-active suspension, cornering ABS, heated grips, electrically-adjustable wind screen, hill hold, tyre pressure monitoring system and an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) helps in keeping the rubber side down and manages acceleration and ABS by reading the bike’s movement along 6-axes on the pitch, roll, and yaw movement.
The all-new 2017 Triumph Explorer XCx looks more muscular and comes with a shaft final drive with a torque-assist clutch. In addition to this, the all-new 2017 Triumph Explorer XCx features the new Triumph Semi-active Suspension System manufactured by WP. it also comes with cornering ABS and traction control.
At such a price tag, the all-new 2017 Triumph Explorer XCx will compete with Ducati Multistrada 1200S, Honda Africa Twin as well as the BMW R1200GS in India.
