The Rolls-Royce, exotic car manufacturer has unveiled the eight generation of most expensive and luxurious sedan – Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII. As of now, there is no information on the price and availability but sooner we will get all the required details. The Phantom has been the flagship line and it is existence since 1925. The Phantom VIII touted as the most silent, luxurious, spacious and expensive sedan ever. The Phantom VIII features a brand new bespoke platform with quality bespoke exterior and interior styling. The all new 2017 Rolls Royce Phantom VII Luxury Sedan will be available in India soon and comes in standard & extended wheelbase versions.
According to the company claims, the all new 2017 Rolls Royce Phantom VIII Luxury sedan is the “most silent car in the world” and it is achieved by 6mm of two-layered glazing all around the car with more than 130kg of downs insulation. The cabin floor is double skinned and insulated with dense foam so that the road sound would not enter inside. Even though the tyres have been specifically created for all new 2017 Rolls Royce Phantom VIII and comes with a technology called “Silent-Seal” that foam layer placed inside it to reduce the tyre noise & ensures a quiet cabin. The noise level has come down by 9dB when compared with the previous-gen model and the all new 2017 Rolls Royce is approximately 10 percent quieter than its predecessor at 100kmph. The all new 2017 Rolls Royce Phantom VIII is 30 percent stiffer and comes with the new double-wishbone front all and five-line setup at the rear that is coupled with air suspension gives it the fabled “Magic Carpet Ride”. The suspension adjusts automatically based on acceleration, steering input and data from the front-facing camera.
The all new 2017 Rolls Royce Phantom VIII is powered by a twin-turbocharged engine that rests under the bonnet. The 6.75-litre (Six and Three Quarter Litre) V12 powertrain churns out 563 bhp of peak power and produces a torque of 900Nm at 1,700 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed gearbox and the car will go 0-100kmph in just five & a half seconds.
According to the company, “the new architecture is at the best of how the next generation of Rolls Royce delivers the Rolls Royce experience in terms of ride comfort, acoustic comfort, seat comfort, exterior presence and interior space.”
On the inside, the all new 2017 Rolls Royce comes with something for everyone like the hand-crafted wide variety of seats – standard lounge seats to individual seats with occasional armrest, individual seats with fixed center console and newly introduced sleeping seat. The Phantom VIII also comes with fixed rear console that incorporates a drinks cabinet with whiskey glasses & decanter, champagne flutes, and a toolbox. You also get wood paneling on the rear of the front seats with theatre monitors and picnic tables that are electrically deployed and the “I am too rich to shut my own door” button that electronically shuts your door for you. The new Phantom features a 12.3-inch display that has multiple customization options and complimented well with huge centrally mounted screen. The Phantom VIII comes with oil painting, porcelain, roses, silk inlays, 3D printed map, and signature starlit roof liner as standard.
In terms of exterior design, all new 2017 Rolls Royce looks very similar to older Phantom but gets subtle & noticeable changes. The biggest change you can see is on the front, the grille design has been altered with a larger profile and the grille is integrated with the bodywork. In addition to this, the headlight design has been altered and features daytime running lamps & LED illumination. Apart from this, the company says that the new headlights can illuminate a total distance of 600m at night. The side profile remains as elegant as the previous generation but you will find more details around the door handles as the flowing C-pillar. To maintain the overall proportions, the new Phantom VIII gets a short front and long rear overhand. To make design clean & subtle, the tapered tail section made of aluminum and it is pretty similar to 7th generation Phantom that features large tail lamps, swopping boot and the signature two themes. The Rolls Royce Phantom VIII runs on diamond-finished 22-inch wheels, the largest on a Rolls-Royce car ever.
In terms of safety, the all new 2017 Rolls-Royce comes with night vision and vision assist, active cruise control, collision warning, pedestrian warning, cross-traffic warning, lane departure and lane change warning.
