Let me start this off by saying that as a teenager, all I could think and talk about was driving except studies. It was a tiring job for parents to drive me everywhere and sometimes it becomes a full-time job for parents to wheeling me around the town & it will be annoying too. In India, when it comes to four-wheeler vehicle, the driver license will be available only after the age of 18th. So, all I’m waiting eagerly for my 18th birthday so that the dream of sitting behind the wheel will be fulfilled. After earning a driver license I can proudly say that I would have a vehicle of my own and this was the moment when I say I’m the proud owner of SKODA Rapid. Getting a first car meant gaining my freedom and I couldn’t wait to drive around & play around it.
Now with SKODA Rapid, I can go anywhere without the aid of parents and for me, the car becomes the first taste of freedom. All, I can say a moment that I will never forget and to date, it is still one of my favorite memories. At the time of writing this, I still remember that the things were little bumpy in the beginning and together, we have been through a lot be it spring breaks, school time, college time or work over the years. You were the first one for me that let me go wherever my heart wanted to take me be it late night parties, lonely rides in the dark storms, job interviews, late night drive home, or a visit to Cafe Coffee day, and above all, there is a simple in-between. In addition to this, you’ve been there for me through friendships, love, heartbreak, listening to my phone calls, a new beginning, and giving me a safe place to cry when I needed them. In short span of time, you become my judgment-free zone, favorite travel companion, and trusted hiding place when I felt like I couldn’t face anything.
You let me play the music as loud as you would let me without breaking down and let me yelled out in excitement from the very first day. You were always patient through the curbs I pulled you over, the turns that I took too fast and spills that I made on you. Apart from this, you make sure that I reach home safely every single day since we met and you never ever complained about it once. In fact, I know you even keep me safe the day I had to say goodbye to you. I know there are better cars out there but SKODA Rapid will be my first car and it’s a fun to drive it.
All I can say, I grew up in SKODA Rapid and our love was bright.

After the launch, the SKODA Rapid has raised the competition and narrowed the gap as it comes with standard features like airbags, stop/start technology, electric handbrake, hill hold, touchscreen, Bluetooth and multi-function steering wheel, front assist, and dual zone air conditioning. By paying extra amount you get access to more features like bi-xenon headlights, cruise control, a color touchscreen, rain-sensing wipers, and so on.
The SKODA Rapid looks more attractive from the front & the back, it has balance, very good grip, and handles really well despite it’s increased size. The car is lower, sleeker in appearance and when it comes to headroom & legroom, the SKODA Rapid is generous & has acres of room. Additionally, the car has extra boot space as well. Overall, all I can say, the SKODA Rapid is all about the value-for-money car as it has looks, technology, and better fuel efficiency.

Ever since the automotive industry’s pioneering days, the SKODA Auto working on cutting-edge technology and already setting the standards for their competitors. As a SKODA user I can easily say this and as a car enthusiast, taking care of the car is always a nerve-wracking experience for me be it servicing of the car or keeping a close eye on fuel costs & mileage, maintaining details of service history, locating the nearest dealer and calculating service cost, etc. To overcome all these problems, the SKODA Auto India has launched the “MySKODA” app back in 2016 and it was an absolute delight for SKODA owners like me.
To get started, you have to download the app from the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store and as soon as you downloaded the app on your smartphone you will enter into the amazing world of car maintenance. In the app, you will see a button “I own a SKODA” and this is the hub where you can connect your car by just entering the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) of your car. The app provides a single-window interface between the SKODA customers & the brand, and in no time it becomes the go-to app for everything related to SKODA. By seeing the overwhelming response of the app from their customers, the company work harder and improved the app by adding “simply clever” & innovative features and the app is updated to version 2.0 – MySKODA 2.0. If you can recall a saying in Spiderman movie, “With great power, it comes responsibility and safety too” and that’s where the company has taken care off. The MySKODA app is a digitized version of your car where you can find tons of instructional videos, features like parking assistance, accessories shop, Trip Calculator and more. Apart from this, the company has also taken care of non-SKODA owners. The “MySKODA App 2.0” caters both the customers and the SKODA enthusiasts. For enthusiasts, there is an “I want to own a SKODA” tab where they not only find the range of SKODA cars available in India but also book a test drive, get all the help & advice you need from within the app. The app also informs the SKODA enthusiasts about the upcoming or ongoing offers. For the existing customers, there is a dedicated “I own a SKODA” tab and this tab is aimed at facilitating & providing a hassle-free ownership experience.
Talking about my favorite feature of the MySKODA app 2.0 is the parking assistance & accessories shop. The Parking Assistance feature helps me to find the parked car in no time. To use this feature, you have to turn on the locator button before leaving your vehicle and the app will help you to get back to it without wasting a single second. Apart from this, the camera button takes pictures of the location, helping you to find quicker. The app also comes with timer button and it will help you to remember how long you’ve parked your vehicle. The Accessories Shop feature helps me to customize the car according to my taste. From here I can browse through the entire official accessories catalog that is available from SKODA India and after selecting the accessories, I have to choose the dealership of my choice. You have to just tap on the interested button as once the selected dealership receives your order they will call you on a priority basis.
Overall, the MySKODA app 2.0 is all about making the customer experience more convenient & the company making every effort to make it a second home for motoring.
