Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) launched the 2018 edition of the Honda Dio Scooter at a starting price tag of Rs. 51,292 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2018 Honda Dio available in 9 attractive colours and two variants – Standard and Deluxe. The 2018 Honda Dio will be available across all Honda dealerships. The 2018 Honda Dio Standard variant cost Rs. 51,292 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it comes in five attractive colours – Vibrant Orange, Pearl Sports Yellow, Sports Red, Candy Jazz Blue, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic while the 2018 Honda Dio Deluxe variant cost Rs. 53,292 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it comes in four attractive colours – Dazzle Yellow Metallic, Matte Marshal Green Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.

According to the company, the popular youthful scooter gets a host of new cosmetic features, sportier graphics, and advanced features. The 2018 Honda Dio features all-new LED headlamp & positioning lamp, four-in-one lock with seat opener switch on the front, and hooks (front & retractable rear hook) for convenience among others. The 2018 Honda Dio also gets a new metal muffler protector while the Deluxe variant gets a fully digital console with three-step “Eco Speed Indicator” as well as a service due to indicator reminder and gold-furnished rims. The company also announced the availability of mobile phone charging socket to charge the smartphones on the go, although as an optional extra convenience feature.

The 2018 Honda Dio equipped with Combi Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer technology as standard. The unique equalizer in Honda’s advanced Combi Brake System (CBS) distributes braking force between front and rear wheels simultaneously, resulting in reduced braking distance & improved balance compared to conventional braking.

The 2018 Honda Dio is powered by the Honda’s trusted 100cc HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine, which makes 8bhp of maximum power at 7,000 rpm and 8.9 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The 2018 Honda Dio gets a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and claims a top speed of 83 kmph. The 2018 Honda Dio Edition rides on 10-inch wheels with 130mm drum brakes on both ends with the combined braking system. The engine promises improved combustion, reduced friction and better cooling to bring out the best performance.

For your information, Honda Dio is the fourth largest selling scooter model in the Indian market with sales of 4,09,233 units in FY2017-18. The domestic sales for Honda Dio grew by 54.71 percent YoY. On the export front, HMSI exported 156,555 units in FY2017-18, which is up by 16 percent YoY.
