Japanese car manufacturer, Nissan has launched the NissanConnect app in India and the app can be downloaded from Google Play Store, iTunes App Store, and Windows Phone Store. The NissanConnect app is an integrated and communication platform that connects with customer’s smartphone to provide enhanced driving experience.
The NissanConnect app will be available on Micro, Terrano and Sunny models and it 50+ features to improve the ownership experience of the car. As a launch offer, the SIM and the subscription services of the application will be complimentary for three years. In addition to this, Nissan India will offer a one-year warranty on the application. There is no word not he charges that would be applied once the subscription period gets over. Apart from Nissan, Honda, Mahindra and Toyota have introduced a smartphone application for their customers in India.
The NssanConnect has been developed completely by Renault-Nissan Technology Business Centre India (RNTBCI) and the app has been inspired by Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility vision of making driving more confident, and efficient yet exciting. The app connects to the car via the Telematics control unit (TCU) which is integrated into the car and the new cars that will be rolling out from the factory will be fitted with the new TCU system with an inbuilt SIM for every car & an in-house dedicated server. The NissanConnect app comes with features like event notifications, trip information, overspending alerts, service reminders, new car enquiry, location tracking, theft alert, social sharing, driving points, low fuel warning and much more.
For the Nissan car owner, the NissanConnect app allows him/her to set a host of alerts for improved drivability. By using the app, owners can set speed limit alert and it automatically sends a notification when the car exceeds a prescribed limit, the chauffeur tracker sends an alert when the car is driven beyond, curfew alert automatically detects that car is moved after a certain time, and it will give you a score card on your driving.
