The French carmaker, Renault has released the special edition of Kwid, titled as Renault Kwid 02 Anniversary Edition in India at a starting price tag of Rs. 3.43 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The anniversary edition comes in two colours – Red & White colours and it will cost you Rs. 15,000 more over the standard priced. The Anniversary Edition Kwid cost Rs. 3.43 lakh for the RXL 0.8L, Rs. 3.76 Lakh for the RXT 0.8L, Rs. 3.64 lakh for the RXL 1.0L and Rs. 3.98 lakh for the RXT 1.0L. The Renault has sold over 1.75 Lakh models of Kwid in India and there is no word how long the Anniversary Edition will remain on sale.
Like all other special editions, the Renault Kwid 02 Anniversary Edition comes with a bunch of cosmetic & features. The Anniversary Edition available with RXT and the RXL variants of both engine options. Starting with exteriors, the car gets big “02” graphics on the hood & doors, sporty graphics on the C-Pillar and the roof. There are dual-tone ORVMs with the white car getting orange paint and red one getting white paint. Like ORVMs, the wheels-caps and the front/rear skid plate gets the same treatment. The numeral “02” can be seen on the hood and the side skirts, indicating the fact that the Kwid has turned two.
The Interior of the car too gets new updates like new upholstery with “02” badge on the front setback. The side air vents and the centre console get dark ivory contours, while the gear knob also gets a two-tone treatment. The floor mats and the steering wheel too get the “02” badge. The AC Vents and the fascia too get coloured housing. The Anniversary Edition also gets the 7-inch touchscreen system with navigation, digital instrument cluster, one-touch lane change indicator and speed dependent volume control.
The Renault Kwid 02 Anniversary Edition comes with no changes on the engine side. The hatchback comes in two engine variants – 0.8-litre that produces 54Ps of power that churns out 72Nm of torque while the 1.0.-litre engine produces 68PS of power that churns out 91Nm of torque. The 02 Anniversary Editon is paired with 5-speed manual gear while there is no AMT option available. The other specifications remain the same.
