Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the company’s latest bike – Triumph Street Triple RS in India at a price tag of Rs. 10.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). The Street Triple RS comes in two colour options – Matt Silver Ice & Phantom Black, and the company will offer 60 custom accessories for the Street Triple RS & it includes Arrow exhausts, swingarm protector kit and so on and so forth. For your information, the Streep Triple RS is the second variant of new-gen Street Triple that was launched in India. At such a price tag, the Triumph Street Triple RS will compete with Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900, Aprilia Shiver 900, Yamaha MT-09 and the MV Agusta Brutale 800.

At a first glance, the Street Triple RS looks almost identical to its standard sibling Street Triple S. The Street Triple RS gets the host of mechanical upgrades and they are new LED DRLS on the bug eye headlamps, restyled fuel tank, and petite exhaust muffler. The Street Triple RS gets 5-inch full-colour TFT display and it displays a plethora of information. The console can be programmed in two different themes and three different styles and the contrast can be adjusted as well depending on the rider’s height.The functions can be accessed by five-way joystick placed on the switchgear of the left side of the handlebar.

The Triumph Street Triple RS powered by same Daytona 675-R derived 765cc, liquid-cooled, inline 3-cylinder engine that also powers the Street Triple S that was launched earlier this year. Both the motorcycle share the same engine and chassis but the RS variant makes more power which is 123 PS at 11,700rpm and churns out 77Nm of peak torque at 10,800rpm whereas the Street Triple S generates 113PS of maximum power and churns out 73Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to the same six-speed transmission, although the RS gets bi-directional quick shifter as standard.

The Street Triple RS gets more electronics when compared with Street Triple S. The RS features 5 riding modes – Race, Track, Sport, Rider, and Rain. It also comes with four-level traction control with preset modes – Road, Rain, Track and Off. The ABS to features multiple modes like Road, Track, and Off. Each riding mode can be easily customised that allows you to choose various levels for tractions and ABS settings according to your riding preference. The Triumph Street Triple RS gets top-shelf equipment in the form of Brembo brakes and 41mm USD Showa BPF (big piston forks) upfront and an Ohlins monoshock at the rear. The Sweet Triple RS comes with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres and it offers much better grip when compared with the standard tyres. The Street Triple RS weighs 166kg (2Kg lighter than the older bike) and the seat height is 825mm which is 25mm more when compared to Street Triple S. The Street Triple RS gets switchable traction control, ABS and ride-by-wire features too.
