Yamaha has launched the company’s latest bike in FZ-series – Yamaha FZ25 in India at a price tag of Rs. 1,19,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike comes in three colours – Ballistic Blue, Warrior White and Knight Black and will be available from 1st February 2017 across Yamaha dealerships in the country. The motorcycle is made in India at the company’s Surajpur plant and the motorcycle will face a stiff completion from its competitors in the 250cc segment. At a price tag, the Yamaha FZ25 compete with Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, Honda CBR250R, KTM 200 Duke, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaj Dominar 400.
In India, the 250cc segment is highly competitive and with Yamaha FZ25, Yamaha targeting biking enthusiasts in the age group of 20 to early 30s and calls FZ25 as the street-fighter.
The Yamaha F25 is powered by newly designed Blue-Core-enabled two-valve SOHC engine (BSIV compliant) makes 20.9PS @ 8,000 rpm and torque of 20Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and Yamaha claims that the motorcycle will deliver a fuel efficiency of 45kmpl.
The Yamaha FZ25 comes with number of changes & features but it looks a lot similar to its successor FZ16. The Yamaha FZ25 comes with Full LED headlamps (first for any 250cc bike in India as of now), taillamp, AHO (automatic Headlamp On), LCD instrument cluster which displays the speed, engine rpm, fuel and odometer. In addition to this, the LCD instrument cluster also provides additional information like fuel reserve trip meter, clock, instant fuel economy and average fuel economy. Other features are, a mudguard moves with the swing arm, wheels with a spoke design like that of MT series bikes and racing style footpads (rear seats). The mirrors on the Yamaha FZ25 look similar to the ones on the MT-03.
The 14L fuel tank looks chiselled and the stopping power is via a 282mm front and 220mm rear disc brake. For your information, the mechanicals comprise of telescopic front forks while a monoshock suspension setup at the rear. The only drawback is that, there is no ABS (Anti-Locks Brakes) but Yamaha India says that, they are ready and will be in market if there is demand.
The overall length of FZ25 is 2015mm, slightly longer than the FZ16 and the seat height of FZ25 is 795mm. The ground clearance is 160mm.
The kerb weight of the Yamaha FZ25 is 148kg and it shares foot pegs, number plate holder and few other features from other Yamaha models.
