The Japanese carmaker has launched the company’s latest hatchback – Datsun redi-Go Sport in India at a price tag of Rs. 3.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes in three colour options – Ruby, White & Grey and when compared with the top range S trim model of the redi-Go, it is only Rs. 15,000 more. The Datsun redi-GO Sport is a limited edition car and it comes with number of features. The sportier version of the car was launched by Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik, she is also the first customer and Brand Ambassador of the limited edition version. Originally, the Datsun redi-GO was launched in June this year and with this redi-Go Sport limited edition, the carmaker is eyeing to increase sales during the festive season.
Commenting on the launch, Arun Malhotra, managing director of Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd., said:

Now we are delighted to introduce the limited edition Datsun redi-GO SPORT, which adds a sporty-themed option for customers during the festive season. We also celebrate our new association with Sakshi Malik, whose world-class performance in Rio brought her into all our hearts, and who perfectly embodies Datsun’s philosophy of #ISayYes to having a dream and achieving it.”

Aesthetically, on the outside, the Datsun redi-GO sport gets themed grille with red accents, black finished wheel cover, roof spoiler, race decals across the bonnet and roof while on the inside, the dashboard gets upgraded with sporty black interiors. The limited edition redi-Go also comes with connivence features like rear parking sensor, remote keyless entry, Bluetooth audio system.
There are no mechanical changes on the redi-GO Sport and like the regular version, it retains the same engine. It is powered by 799cc three-cylinder petrol engine which delivers 54PS of power and maximum torque of 72Nm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission
Datsun is offering the redi-GO Sport on the carline’s top-end trim, namely, S. just so you know, Datsun offers a total of five trim levels on the standard redi-GO: D, A, T, T(O), and S. Other than that, the redi-GO Sport features no other changes. It also comes powered by the 799cc three-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission and delivers 54PS of power and maximum torque of 72Nm.
For your information, Datsun redi-Go was launched in June 2016 and it receives a great response from customers. Datsun retailed 2,925 units of the hatchback in the month of June, 3,940 units in the month of July and 3,205 units in the month of August. With the festive season round the corner, it is expected that, the addition of the limited edition will help carmarker to increase their sales.
