BMW Motorrad has launched the all-new G310 R and all-new G310 GS models in India at a price tag of ₹ 2.99 lakh and ₹ 3.49 lakh, respectively. The all-new BMW G 310 R available in Style HP, Cosmic Black, and Racing Red metallic colour while the all-new BMW G 310 GS available in Pearl White Metallic, Cosmic Black, and Racing Red. The bookings for the BMW G310 R and G310 GS bike is Rs. 5,000 and the BMW Motorrad dealers across the country (Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Delhi, and Chennai) have already commenced the bookings for both motorcycles. You can expect a waiting period of around 2-3 months. The BWM Motorrad offers three-year unlimited kilometer warranty on both motorcycles and you can extend the warranty to the fourth & fifth year. Additionally, there is a roadside assistance, a 24×7 365-day package that ensures prompt services in case of breakdown and towing situations. Apart from this, the BMW Financial Services offering attractive finance schemes on both the BMW G310 R and BMW 310 GS, with monthly installments starting at ₹ 6,999 for the G310 R and ₹ 7,999 for the G310 GS.
The BMW G310 R and BMW G310 GS are manufactured at TVS plant in Hosur, near Bengaluru, and it is the first offering of the TVS-BMW project that began in 2013. The launch of both bikes marks the company’s foray into the sub-500 cc segment in India and the BMW G310 R is positioned as naked streetfighter while the BMW G310 GS positioned as an entry-level adventure bike.
The all-new BMW G 310 R and the all-new BMW G 310 GS are powered by a completely newly developed 313 cc water-cooled single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts together with electronic fuel injection. The engine churns out 34PS of peak power at 9,500 rpm and produces a peak torque of 28Nm at 7,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycles can accelerate from 0-50 km/hr in just 2.5 seconds and the BMW 310 R achieves a top speed of 145 km/hr while the BMW G310 GS achieve a top speed of 143 km/hr.
The BMW G310 R and the BMW G310 GS gets 41mm inverted front forks and a rear monoshock. The front suspension on the 310 GS is 180mm, 40mm more than that of the G310 R while the G310 GS rear monoshock gets 180mm of travel, 49mm more than that of BMW G310 R. Both the motorcycles shares the same braking components too – a 300m front disc and a 240mm rear disc brake equipped with dual-channel ABS as standard. The standard multi-function instrument cluster has a large liquid crystal display that offers excellent clarity and a wide range of information.
The BMW G310 R (₹ 2.99 lakh) will compete with KTM 390 Duke (₹ 2.4 lakh), Bajaj Dominar 400 – ABS (₹ 1.62 lakh), Mahindra Mojo XT 300 (₹ 1.63 lakh), and the Benelli TNT 300 (₹ 3.29 lakh) while the BMW G310 GS (₹ 3.49 lakh) will compete with Royal Enfiled Himalayan (₹ 1.68 lakh), Kawasaki Versys-X-300 (₹ 4.69 lakh), and upcoming KTM 390 Adventure, respectively.
