Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. has launched the Burgman Street in India at a price tag of ₹ 68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Suzuki Burgman Street available in Metallic Fibroin Gray, Glass Sparkle Black, and Pearl Mirage White colours. The bookings for the Suzuki Burgman Street have already begun across Suzuki dealerships in the country at a token amount of ₹ 5,000.
The Suzuki Burgman Street is the second Maxi-scooter (Maxi scooters are generally large scooters) that was launched in India after the Kinetic Blaze, and the company positioning the scooter as a premium offering that comes with a plethora of features and options. The Burgman Street follows the Suzuki European style design and a bright LED headlight along with the indicators integrated into the front apron for a sporty look, position lamp, tail lamp, a tall windscreen at the top, chrome accent on the front and rear body parts reflect the premium aspect of the scooter. The Burgman has an extra-long seat, 21.5 litres under seat storage, there are two pockets (1-litre each, equipped with standard fitment of DC socket & USB charger as accessory). The paint finish feels premium and the fully digital instrument cluster is a straight lift from the Suzuki Gixxer range. The Burgman Street features a flexible foot position, there’s a pair of foot pads on the apron as well that enables the rider to sit in a relaxed, leg-forward position. Overall, the Suzuki Burgman Street is a good looking scooter and it will appeal to both – matured buyers and young enthusiasts.
The Suzuki Burgman Street is based on the Suzuki Access 125, the engine and the underpinnings are borrowed from the Suzuki Access 125. The Suzuki Burgman Street scooter has a 125cc, 4 strokes air-cooled engine with SOHC 2 valve single-cylinder engine that churns out 8.7PS of peak power at 7,000 rpm and produces 10.2Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. As per WMTC, the scooter has a mileage of 53.5kmpl. The Burgman Street has two technology feature – the Eco Performance, and CBS feature. The Eco-Performance feature offers an optimal fuel-efficiency without compromising on either performance or power while the CBS feature enables operation of both brakes from the left brake lever, helping in maintaining a good balance between front and rear brake forces. The Suzuki Burgman rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped with MRF Zapper tubeless tyres.
At such a price tag, the Suzuki Burgman Street will compete with Honda Grazia (₹ 63,994), Honda Activa 125 (₹ 64,007), Aprilia SR 125 (₹ 66,764), TVS NTorq 125 (₹ 59,687) and Vespa LX 125 (₹ 72,787), all prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
