Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of passenger cars in India has launched the fifth-generation All New Honda CR-V in India at a price tag of ₹ 28.15 lakh for the petrol version. For the first time, Honda Cars have also launched a diesel engine equipped version of the CR-V at a price tag of ₹ 30.65 lakh for the 2WD version while the fully loaded top-spec all-wheel-drive variant cost ₹ 32.75 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Pan India). The All-New Honda CR-V available in a choice of 5 exterior colours – Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, and White Orchid Pearl. The deliveries will start from today at all HCIL dealer network and the company is offering 3 years/Unlimited Kilometers warranty as standard, Service interval of 1 year/10,000km whichever is earlier, and Extended Warranty for additional two years/Unlimited kilometres. Originally, the All-New Honda CR-V was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and it is available in three variants which are differentiated by powertrains instead of trims. It can be either a petrol 2WD, diesel 2WD or diesel AWD and the All-New Honda CR-V is now bigger and boasts new design and styling.

At such a price tag, the All-New Honda CR-V will compete with Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Ford Endeavour
The All-New Honda CR-V is marginally bigger and boasts a more premium design and styling. The All-Honda CR-V gets sharp LED headlights, LED fog lamps along with a higher ground clearance. Additionally, the All-New Honda CR-V gets splashes of chrome all across along with a new grille on the front and on the rear side, you get angular tail lamps along with a new bumper, Panoramic Sunroof and boot design. The length of the All-New Honda CR-V has increased by 47mm and the wheelbase too increased of 40mm, translating into more space in the middle row. The All-New Honda CR-V gets new sporty-designed 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels.
On the inside, the All-New Honda CR-V gets a bunch of new features and boast a more premium finish while a 7-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system dominates the centre console and supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto along with other regular connectivity options. The company is offering the 7-seater option only on the diesel engine variant while the petrol engine model gets only the 5-seater layout. The cabin of the CR-V features a new layout and looks smart, luxurious with leather upholstery as well with Piano black and Wooden finish centre console trim, giving it a premium touch. Other features are 8 speakers including 4 tweeters, 3 mode Panoramic Sun Roof, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 4-way lumbar support, Push start/Stop with Smart entry, Dual-zone automatic air conditioner, and multiple USB charging ports for front and rear occupants.
The All-New Honda CR-V available in both engine options where the diesel engine model have all-wheel drive as an option but the petrol engine model will only have front wheel drive. The All-New Honda CR-V is powered by all-new 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that churns out a maximum power of 120 PS at 4,000 rpm and produces a peak torque of 300Nm at 2,000 rpm. The diesel engine is mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission in both the 2WD and the AWD variant. According to company claims, the claimed fuel efficiency for the 2WD drivetrain is 19.5kmpl while the fuel efficiency of AWD drivetrain is 18.3kmpl. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine churns out maximum power 155PS at 6,500 rpm and produces a peak torque of 190Nm at 4,300 rpm. The petrol engine is mated to a 6-speed CVT gearbox and it is available as a front-wheel drive (2WD drivetrain) only and does not get the third row of seats. According to company claims, the claimed fuel efficiency for the petrol CR-V is 14.4kmpl.
On the safety side, the All-New Honda CR-V equipped with a wide range of Honda’s premium active safety, passive safety and driver-assistive features, offered as standard across all variants. The new CR-V gets ABS with EBD, brake assist, vehicle stability assists, agile handling assist, hill start assists, rain sensing wiper, 6 airbags, Isofix child mounts, Honda LandWatch, seatbelt pre-tensioners, multi-angle rearview camera, auto-dimming IRVM, and even driver attention monitor. The CR-V has also received a 5-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash tests, offering complete peace of mind.
