Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the Gixxer with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) at a price tag of ₹ 87,250 (ex-showroom Delhi). The 155cc motorcycle is equipped with single-channel ABS only, and it is the same that is offered with its full-faired sibling Gixxer SF. The Gixxer with ABS available in three colours – Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black, Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic Sonic Silver, and Glass Sparkle Black. At such a price tag, the 2018 Suzuki Gixxer with ABS will compete with Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Honda CB Hornet 160R.
The Gixxer with ABS cost ₹ 6,321 more over the rear disc brake variant and ₹ 10,235 more expensive than the basic single disc brake trim. Except for ABS, there are no cosmetic and mechanical changes to the Gixxer. The Gixxer with ABS is powered by 154.99cc single-cylinder engine, 4-stroke that churns out a maximum power of 14.8 PS at 8,000 rpm and produces a peak torque of 14Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and braking duties are handled by 266mm disc brake up front and a 240mm disc at the rear, assisted by a single-channel ABS unit. The suspension setup includes front telescopic forks and monoshock suspension at the rear. The motor also features Suzuki’s Jet Cooling System for better engine heat management.
On the features front, the Gixxer with ABS carries forward the same set of features as the stock bike like Auto Headlight On (AHO) headlight, LED tail lamp, fully digital speedometer, chrome tipped twin exhaust, a 3-spoke light wheel, and two-piece rear fender for a sporty look.
