In an event in New Delhi, Ford has launched the 2018 Ford Aspire in India at a starting price tag of ₹ 5.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 1.2-litre Dragon petrol variants are priced between ₹ 5.55 lakh and ₹ 7.24 lakh while the diesel variants will cost between ₹ 6.45 lakh to ₹ 8.14 lakh. The top-spec automatic with the 1.5-petrol cost ₹ 8.49 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom India. The bookings of the car already started and the deliveries will commence from today onwards. The 2018 Ford Aspire available in both petrol and diesel engine options, and there are a total of five variants – Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium, and Titanium+. It comes with five years or 1,00,000 km warranty, includes a 2-year factory warranty and 3-year extended warranty.

In terms of visual changes, on the front, the 2018 Ford Aspire Facelift comes with a new grille finished in Silver with a honeycomb pattern with a redesigned headlamp cluster. The front bumper is new and comes with silver inserts, a handlebar-moustache-like black design element housing the central airdam while a brushed aluminium element has been added to the edges of the bumper – just like the black element on the Freestyle. Other changes are new foglamps in a rounded shape, and C-shaped chrome elements on either end. On the rear, the changes are subtle and the bumper gets some new elements that reduce the bulk. The changes are new inserts in the rear bumper, a pair of revised taillamps with a thick chrome slat on the boot lid, connecting the two light units and black lid at the bottom to break the visual bulk of the rear end.
The changes on the side include a new multi-spoke 15-inch alloy wheel instead of 14-inch that comes with the older car, and updated ORVMs.
On the interior side, the 2018 Ford Aspire Facelift gets new two-tone black and beige colour scheme. The dashboard has been updated with a new centre console and 8-inch infotainment display that supports Ford’s in-car connectivity system SYNC3 and has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, including Google Maps navigation. Other features are auto climate control, a start-stop button, repositioned air vents, rain sensing wipers, reversing camera, piano-black accents, and aircon vents along with illuminated USB sockets.
In terms of safety features, the 2018 Ford Aspire Facelift comes with standard dual airbags, ABS, EBD across the variant line-up as standard, up to six airbags are on offer in the top Titanium+ trim.
In terms of performance, the 2018 Ford Aspire Facelift comes in two petrol and one diesel engine option. Both the petrol engines are from the new dragon series – the 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit that was introduced with the Freestyle that churns out 96PS of maximum power and produces a peak torque of 120Nm while the 1.5-litre three-cylinder unit that was introduced with the Ecosport facelift churns out 123 bhp of maximum power and produces a peak torque of 150Nm. The 1.2-litre petrol unit is paired with 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while the 1.5-litre petrol unit is paired with a 6-speed torque converter instead of the dual-clutch transmission on the older model.
The diesel variant will be offered in 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel 1498cc engine that churns out 100PS of peak power at 3750rpm and produces a peak torque of 215Nm at 1750 to 3000 rpm. The diesel engine paired with 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and according to company claims it offers a mileage of 26.1kmpl.
